A bomb goes around the table. Holding it pays by the second.

Every round, a bomb with a hidden fuse lands in someone's hands. Points pile up for as long as you hold it. To get rid of it, you type a code on the old phone taped to its side — and the longer you've been holding, the longer that code gets.

Let it go off in your hands and you lose every point you gathered that round. Loudly.

Here's the catch: you can't hear your own countdown.

The room has an alarm — a red light and a rising beep that tell everyone how close the bomb is to going off. Everyone except the person holding it. In your hands, the alarm goes quiet.

So you don't watch a timer. You watch them. They lean in. They start fidgeting. And when they suddenly jerk back and lift their hands off the table, you have about two seconds to decide whether you believe them.

They know that too. They can lie with their bodies. They can slam the table just to make you flinch.

Push your luck, out loud.

• Risk cards — every round starts with a choice. Safe pays once. Greedy pays double. Insane pays quadruple and kills the warnings for the whole table.
• Slam the table — twice per set, shake the holder's phone mid-code. Use it to help someone panic, or to bluff.
• Five sets, twenty-five rounds — the last round of every set pays double, the lights get worse as you go, and in the finale the ceiling light dies completely. Just the red one.
• Online with a code — host a game, send your friends six characters. No port forwarding. Empty seats fill with bots.

It is a game about a room full of people who all know something you don't, and about how long you can stand not knowing.
